Nintendo unveiled it’s newest console today the Wii U, at the E3 Gaming Expo in Los Angeles.
Wii U shocked me, I wasn’t expecting to write anything about a Nintendo console any time
soon but this gaming system deserves some serious credit. The controllers buttons are
surrounded by a 6.2 inch touch screen that can be used as either a second screen for the
television or an entirely different perspective for in-game play. Buttons include: dual analog
sticks, d-pad, a front facing camera as well as four shoulder buttons. Another great feature
is that Wii U has backward compatibility. This means that original Wii games as well as Wii
accessories (like Wii Fit) can be used on the new console. To learn about the Wii U’s other
innovative features check out the video below and/or visit Gizmodo.

As I finally got a chance to watch one of the year’s most critically acclaimed films, Black Swan,
I couldn’t help but notice the elegant typography used within the credits. Movie credits are an
essential to a good film and must fuse the visuals with the actual minds behind the film. Here
director, Darren Aronofsky, uses the dramatic Didot typeface to describe his dark, disturbing
ballet movie. Notice the opening credits use a black background, while the end credits use white.

I have been meaning to post this for a while ever since I saw the rebrand of Comedy Central.
Designed by thelab in NYC, Comedy Central completely changed their logo, which is meant to
play off the copyright symbol. The typefaces used in their commercials are Brandon
Grotesque
and the light font is Eames Century Modern. They work great together as they
create an obvious contrast. Check out the stills and video below, and see what I mean.

Yo, so my boy Alfie Parker from beallmighty.com introduced me to this one man band named
The Heligoats last night, ever since I’ve been hooked. Chris Otepkas style is out of this world,
his lyrics highlight his conscious, he uses his well selected words to paint a perfect picture of
his own thoughts and observations. His stage presence may seem awkward at first but it seems
to work harmoniously with his music and his elaborate and entertaining story telling.
